A Few Notes:

1. Grade levels are based on the grade that your child will be in the Fall of 2023.

2. It is very helpful if you can register by the end of May. Camps may be canceled after that due to low enrollment.

3. Please contact Maria Klompmaker ([email protected]) if your child has any specific medical or special needs that we should be aware of. Zeeland Christian is an inclusive community and desires to include all students to the greatest extent possible.

Academic Camps/Opportunities

  • Stop by school Wednesday mornings with Kelli Boerkoel between 9:00-10:00 to pick up books that are a good fit for your child to enjoy at home! Books are available in both English and Spanish.

  • July 10-14 from 8:30-12:00 with Bob Hazen.
Algebra is THE gateway to every higher math or science course that even a 3rd-4th grader will take - so turn your child ON to math, long before a typical Algebra-1 class! SAI provides a solid, lasting preview of foundational algebra topics (variables, powers, algebraic factoring, & prime numbers), while connecting with basic facts and arithmetic. In SAI, we use color, size, shape, texture, music, movement, hands-on activities, & fun games - all so that foundational algebra concepts are embedded deeply in student minds. SAI course material is designed so that students with a wide range of math abilities have done well in SAI. While gifted students have benefitted from SAI, students who are average and even struggling with math have also been successful in SAI.
See our Q&A page at www.algebraforkids.com/sai-faqs/ for more information about SAI.

  • Sold Out- Contact Bob Hazen ([email protected]) for more information or to join a waitlist.

  • July 24-28 from 8:30-12:00 with Bob Hazen.
Advanced SAI is similar to the SAI-567 course - the hands-on math activities, the colorful pieces, the sneak peak at some challenging-fun-advanced math for that age. In Advanced SAI, we go further, faster, and deeper with some very cool math activities - including a math procedure that SAI founder Bob Hazen considers "the coolest thing in all of math" - and a math game called Equations that has been called "the Cadillac of math games" - which combines the use of algebra concepts with the strategy of chess. Students eligible for Advanced SAI are students who have already completed the SAI-567 course (either in previous years or during this coming summer's 2023 session).

  • K-2 math and reading. Email for scheduling at [email protected]

Sports Camps

You will learn how to throw forehands, backhands, approach shots, and putts. You will also learn how each disc flies differently than other discs. If you do not own any disc golf discs (different than an ultimate frisbee) there will be a few to borrow but it is also recommended to purchase one of your own. (Meijer has Innova 3 disc packs for $25 and there are local disc golf stores in the area where you can buy a used disc for around $10.) Feel free to reach out to Mr. Rush with any questions including what disc(s) would be a good first purchase!
